All items listed on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine or have been previously reviewed by the Town Council, and will be enacted in one motion. There will be no separate discussion of these items unless a Councilmember so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the General Order of Business, and considered in its normal sequence on the Agenda.

D.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the 2024 renewal applications for Miscellaneous Licenses, Peddlers Licenses, Private Detective Licenses, and Mobile Food Establishment Licenses, all subject to state and local regulations.

 

D.2 A MOTION TO AWARD the bid for the purchase of Wrist Bands for the 2024 beach season from the lowest bidder, Fyre Marketing LLC, in the amount of $3,920.00.

 

D.3 A MOTION TO APPROVE a petition from Narragansett Electric (Rhode Island Energy) and Verizon New England to install a new pole (P17) 75' south of P16 on the same side of the street to service a new customer located at 105 Robinson Street.

 

D.4 A MOTION TO APPROVE the proposed Narragansett League Field and Court Fee Schedule.

 

D.5 A MOTION TO APPROVE a Class F Alcoholic Beverage License for the South County Museum for its opening night event to be held on Friday, May 17, 2024, at its location at 115 Strathmore Street, Narragansett, R.I., subject to state and local regulations.

D.8 A MOTION TO APPROVE the request from the Narragansett Lions Club for their annual "10 Mile Road Race" to be held on Friday, July 26, 2024, from 5:00PM to 8:30PM, subject to state and local regulations.

 

D.9 A MOTION TO APPROVE the contract extension for General Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Services with JMB Mechanical, Inc. for a one-year period at their hourly rates for regular and emergency services and their percentage mark-ups for parts, materials, and equipment, under the same terms and conditions as the original contract.

FIRE DEPARTMENT

 

E.1 A MOTION TO ACCEPT an ARPA/SFRF Municipal Public Safety Infrastructure Grant award in the amount of $952,950.00 and authorize the Town Manager to approve such acceptance for the Fire Department.

 

F.

PARKS AND RECREATION DEPARTMENT

 

F.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase and installation of a new exhaust fan and ductwork at the South Pavilion food concession kitchen to be completed by Abcore Restoration Company, Inc., in the amount of $42,840.00, utilizing the General Construction Services contract.

 

F.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE the mutual agreement between the Town of Narragansett and Narrow River Kayaks, LLC., regarding the number of designated parking spaces for use at 95 Middlebridge Rd., Narragansett, RI.

 

G.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT

 

G.1 A MOTION TO ADOPT a proclamation recognizing Arbor Day 2024 and the importance of trees in Narragansett.

 

H.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT

 

H.1 A MOTION TO ACCEPT a grant from the Rhode Island State Commerce Corporation in the amount of $30,000 and to AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign all the necessary documentation, after Town Solicitor review.

 

H.2 A MOTION TO AUTHORIZE the Town Manager to sign an Adopt-A-Spot agreement with the following individuals for the indicated location:   Second Street-Stan Brajer and Volunteers of the Surfrider Foundation

ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

 

I.1 A MOTION TO APPROVE the contract for Owner's Representative Services for the Rooftop Solar Photovoltaic Array and Electric Vehicle Charging Station for Maury Loontjens Memorial Library with Keough Construction Management in the amount not to exceed $51,960.00.

 

I.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE the purchase of replacement parts, repairs, and modifications to the automated control valve for the Route 108 master meter station from the original manufacturer, Ross Valve, in the amount of $17,981.00.

 

I.3 A MOTION TO APPROVE the contract for Engineering Services for the Evaluation and Design of the Scarborough WWTF Emergency Generator Replacement with Wright-Pierce, in the amount of $124,978.00.

 

I.4 A MOTION TO APPROVE Change Order No. 2 to the Library Conversion Owner's Representative Services contract with Keough Construction Management in the amount of $5,160.00.

J.2 A MOTION TO APPROVE the one (1)-year contract extension for Rental of Tables, Chairs, and Tents with Pranzi Tents and Events for the Towers at their quoted bid prices, under the same terms and conditions as the original contract.

TOWN COUNCIL

 

N.1 A MOTION TO ADOPT a Resolution in support of Governor Daniel J. McKee's Litter Free Rhode Island Campaign.

 

N.2 A MOTION TO SCHEDULE a work session on April 22, 2024 at 5PM to discuss the resolution requesting the General Assembly approval of legislation for the issuance of $3 million dollar bonds for affordable housing in the town of Narragansett.
